At the time of writing, we are only 3%
short of reaching our financial target, with three full days to go! We wanted
to say a huge thanks to all those one-off donations (to the
“Get-them-otta-here” Fund) and Automatic Payments (to the
“Keep-them-away-from-here” Fund), have made this possible. Thanks also to the
prayers who’ve been working behind the scenes.
We’re confident that the sensational snail-on-steroids support campaign
will have slithered across the finish line a second before midnight on the 31st!
People who’ve been planning to partner with us in someway but have not yet done
so, can contact Pam on 096305778 or admin@nzkiwi.net.nz. Thanks again!
Garage Sale on Saturday June 2
Mt.
Albert Baptist have very kindly arranged a garage sale, the proceeds from which
will be donated to our relocation. We’d love to help if you’ve got some junk
that you’d like to get rid off. There might be some bargains, and there’ll be nutritious
(?!?) sausage or cups of tea of you feel like lingering. Would love to see you!
Commissioning Services and Goodbyes
We’d
also love you to come to our commissioning services on Sunday morning at Mt.
Albert Baptist on June 3rd (9 & 11 AM), and All Saints Anglican
Church on June 10th. If you can’t make it on the 3rd or
10th, we’d covet your prayers as we start saying goodbyes to our
many friends and supporters. These are never easy, but some are harder than
others. Remember that if you want to get in touch with us, our numbers are
0220297314 (CJ), 0220297298 (SJ), or 098150924 (hm). We would love to hear from
you!
Departure Dates
CJ
leaves on June 16th. He
will be giving presentations at Monash and LaTrobe universities in Melbourne,
ANU in Canberra, and the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies in Singapore
before delivering a paper at a conference in KL. The conference organizers are paying the
airfare which is a huge blessing. This will require a bit of preparation (see
prayerority # 7) The rest of the family will leave two weeks later on June 30th. CJ arrives in
Chiang Mai (CM) on the 29th, with everyone else getting there on July
1st, after a night in Singapore. “Everyone else” includes C’s mum
who will be returning with us.
School Enrollment Update
After
a few emails and the occasional phone call, we’ve got the kids into the classes
that we feel will be appropriate for them. We expect that getting N the
learner-support the needs, might will require a bit of due diligence on our
part. Might be wrong. Hope so. Please pray!
